Love Manga … Love to sketch.
I want some birthday cake too !!!
September 16th, 2009Yesterday i went out with the design team at my company. The people next to us at the restaurant were having some birthday party. So when they sang happy birthday, I sang with them and that was it … Not so! A big cake came along and my eyes were locked on it. I told my friend Saisho san that I should draw a portrait of the birthday person in exchange of a piece of cake. However, I also told my friend I didn’t have enough guts to do so … But slowly, helped by my friend I stood up and moved toward the table next to us … I was told I was crazy, I was blocked … But I went … Saisho san helped me again to explain the situation, and the people accepted … As it was the birthday of two people … we took the last two remaining piece of ice cream cake and I started to draw the two portraits (while my friends started to eat the cake !!!).
Here are the two portraits …

Shibuya Singer event
August 15th, 2009I went to Shibuya the other day. I saw a singer performing on the street. I made few sketches of him and his fans. His name is Zenichiro Uema and he is the singer of the CATAMARAN (-カタマラン-) band (http://catamaran.syncl.jp)
And that’s all for now …
Tsuji san Jazz fiesta …
August 8th, 2009Today, a friend invited me to see a Jazz concert where he did some dance choregraphy.
Here are the sketches I made during my journey to see the event.
It starts in the train, then in the Jazz club and back in the train on my way home …
I also added a video and some photos I took in the club.
Just a note to say I saw in the metro those two high school girls gigling about some male idol teenager’s picture inserted in some kind of transparent plastic case keyrings. They had about 10 of those picture keyrings each.
The following are sketches of the Jazz singer. She was moving too fast for me to draw her … I should do it from the pictures I took.
As I was leaving the jazz bar, I passed next to the singer artist as she turned around, she walked on my feet… Ha ha ha!
And here the last page of sketchbook number 3. I had to rush outside the club to buy a new sketchbook before the concert starts.
And here sketchbook number 4 …
Too fast… There is no way I could draw the dancers. The following sketches are just flashes of moves imprinted in the back of my brain…
And here are some photos
That’s all for now …
