Sketching in the train starts to feel a bit repetitive … I really need to do something about it … But for the moment, trains are really the only place I take/have time to sketch … Argh !!!

I am excited … My sketch book is almost over … Just 6 pages to go … I have also catched up with all the sketches on it … I draw about two pages per day … So this week, just 2 to 3 sketches per post …

A Korean friend of mine asked me what was my prefered anime … There are so many I like, … But I have to say saint seiya is probably THE ONE … Well, I had to sketch the main character Seiya to my friend for him to recognise the anime …

Well. Here is the link of a French BD (Comics in French) artist NEMIRI who I just love (his art, not him … I mean, I don’t even know him personally !!!) … Anyway it is here: http://www.nemiri.com/ … I sketched few illustrations based on his comic for children “Hyper L’hyppo” … This comic is even signed by him with a nice little sketch (no really I don’t know him, I got it dedicated thanks to my cousin, who knows him ) … Anyway, I wish I could do like the Japanese say: drink his hanakso* and become as talented as he is

Weekend water colour

For today’s water colour, I bought some masking fluid. It was a first for me and it went quite wrong. First my (old) brush is completely useless now. I guess there must be some solvent to take off the masking fluid so I will look for a solution to this problem tomorrow … The second nasty point was when I peeled the masking fluid … Some of the paper peeled away with it … I was too scared to use anymore water colour on the paper so I left the characters without any colour … In Photoshop, I added some darker surfaces for the characters’ hair and light shaddows …

I will do one more water colour painting tomorrow … But I think I will pass on the masking fluid for now !!!

Hakone (part 2)

You know when you think about doing something … If you don’t do it very soon, in time it just get lost … I used to look at nice advertisment posters inside trains, metro, stations, etc, and think I should take photos … But never did until one day, using my mobile phone camera, I started take snapshot of every interesting graphics … Unfortunately, I never looked at them again yet !!! But this is where my blog comes into action … I will do series of sketches and ONE WILL BE ABOUT PHOTOS TAKEN IN THE TRAIN !!!

Well … During my trip to Hakone I sketched some illustrations from various DS games … This is similar to the adverts in train I talked above … I often see nice illustrations on my DS (or other media) … But this time I took the time (forced myself) to sit down and sketch those illustrations …

I hope this blog will force me to draw, paint, etc …

Making some water colour every weekend would be nice and with a bit of luck I will keep going … We shall see …
